Peak Mind "Portraits of Compassion"
A portraiture series celebrating the compassion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his 80th birthday. The concept was to shoot each subject in a state of meditation, focusing on compassion for the world around them. This project required unique direction, as the subjects were not professional performers and were very unaccustomed to having their pictures taken in such a private and vulnerable state. Subtle lighting, negative space, and dark tones were used to create a sense of intimacy and comfort. Each photograph resonates with the message of compassion, representing the spirit of the event.
